This beautiful tree with its purple flowers is so new to me. I am not sure if this tree grows in India. But I have spotted a few here in Texas.
Have a nice day friends. 🙋
We visited the Dallas Arboretum and the botanical garden today. It Is a beautiful place to promote the art and knowledge of horticulture, while providing opportunities for education and research.
You can imagine an average of 900,000 visitors from over 70 countries visit this lovely I garden annually. Located on the shores of the beautiful White Rock Lake the Arboretum covers 66 Acres.
Here are some pictures taken today. As Halloween is coming closer there were colourful pumpkins looking their best. And the lovely flowers were the best of the fall selection.
The colour of the flowers in bloom , the smiling happy faces of the visitors young and old as also the festive atmosphere of the entire garden made our day.
So at-last the rains have come in right earnest and our dams are fast filling-up 🙂 But lo-behold mother nature too is smiling and there is greenery everywhere with the flowers all set to bloom. In my warning walk we witnessed beautiful Pink Lilies just about to bloom. I took a few pictures along with the proud gardener Col. Roshan who looked so pleased with natures bounty. Don’t we all know the color Pink signifies happiness and joy? 🙂
Sunsets are beautiful anywhere in the world. Just gazing at them makes you calm and peaceful. In the words of Nobel laureate and poet Rabindranath Tagore ~ “Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky”.
I took this picture today in the evening and couldn’t resist sharing on my blog.
The major hill range starting from the north is the Sahyadhri (the benevolent mountains) range. This range is home to many hill stations like Matheran, Lonavala-Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani, and Amboli onwards. The range is called Sahyadri in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Sahya Parvatam in Kerala.
The pictures below are taken from the road just short of Jugnoo Farms. You can observe the Sahyadhris in the far distance behind.
Hi folks this post is re-blogged from my other blog. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Thank you friends and have a lovely day 🙂
This lovely bush is so attractive when in bloom. Actually its the leaves which turn white. The bloom lasts only a few months in the winter 😦 People passing by give it different names but that’s pure guess work. In case you do happen to know the name of this beautiful creation of nature please do share.
Have a lovely day 🙂
You can spot the Jugnoo Farm Poly-house with the green top in the far distance nestled in this typical village setting. You can also see simple village folk going about their daily chores and also our Kashinath with the white beard. Kashinath is a highly spiritual person and is the heart and soul of Jugnoo Farm. The effect of his goodness is felt not only by the people who know him but also by the plants. I do believe the plants respond happily to the care he bestows on them.
Every evening Kashinath who is a kirtankar goes with a few friends to the temple located a some distance away from the village for Kirtan (bhajan). A person performing kirtan is known as a kirtankar. Kirtan practice involves chanting hymns or mantras to the accompaniment of instruments such as the harmonium, tabla and some others.
At the farm seeing off a visitor.
Namaste and cheers 🙂
Its the month of March and on the hills at the rear of our housing complex the beautiful Gliricidia trees are in full bloom. Earlier the hills were bare and stony and when Gliricidia trees were planted in a short while the plants became trees. The lovely flowers are in bloom during March April and soon the trees become bare. I am sharing few pictures taken by me.
For more information please read the Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gliricidia_sepium
Gliricidia sepium is a medium-sized tree and can grow to about 10 meters high. The bark is smooth and has composite leaves. Each leaf is composed of leaflets that are about 2 to 7 cm long and 1 to 3 cm wide. The flowers are located on the end of branches that have no leaves. These flowers have a bright pink to lilac color that is tinged with white.
The tree is used in many tropical and sub-tropical countries for various purposes such as live fencing, fodder, coffee shade, firewood, green manure. Live fences can be grown from 1.5 m to 2.0 m stakes of Gliricidia sepium in just a month.
Because it fixes nitrogen in the soil, it boosts crop yields significantly without the expense of chemical fertilizers. It is also one of the most important tropical agro forestry trees and is an effective wind-breaker.
