Stevia is natural substitute for sugar. The plant is easy to grow. I use it to sweeten my herbal tea.  I put a few leaves of Stevia along with Chamomile. It is believed to have a number of benefits.

Sweet Stevia

Sweet Stevia

1.    Keeps the body’s blood sugar levels in check.

2.    Low calories.

In December 2008 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Stevia product rebiana as a general purpose sweetener. Rebiana is an ingredient derived from the leaf of the Stevia plant.
